1 in 5 Californians Have No Health Insurance

Just released census figures show that nearly 6.5 million Californians went without health insurance in 2007.

 

The report shows that the highest rates of uninsured residents were in Mono, Colusa and Monterey counties. San Francisco Bay Area counties were on the opposite side of the spectrum.

 

California ranks eighth in the list of states with the fewest insured residents. Texas, New Mexico and Florida were the worst.
